How to Get from Paris Airport to the City Center

Whether you’re landing at Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or Orly (ORY), getting into the city isn’t complicated. But if you’ve got heavy luggage or just want to arrive without stress, a taxi-transfer from Paris airport to your hotel is the easiest option.

By Train (RER B)

RER B connects CDG directly to central Paris — including Gare du Nord, Châtelet, and Saint-Michel. Trains leave every 10–15 minutes and the ride takes about 30 to 40 minutes. A one-way ticket costs around €11.80.

If you’re flying into Orly, you’ll first need to hop on the Orlyval shuttle to Antony station, then change to the RER B. It’s still cheap, but not ideal with a lot of luggage or kids.

Trains are fast but crowded. No guaranteed seats and not much room for suitcases. It’s fine if you’re traveling light, but not very relaxing after a long flight.

By Bus

From CDG, Roissybus takes you straight to Opéra in about an hour. It’s direct, costs €16.60, and you don’t need to transfer. Buses run every 15–20 minutes.

Orly has a similar option — Orlybus. It runs to Denfert-Rochereau in about 30–40 minutes and costs €9.50. Both buses are clean and good for solo travelers or couples with small bags.

But again, if you’re landing late or carrying ski gear or a stroller — you’ll wish you had a car waiting.

By Taxi

Paris taxis have fixed prices for airport rides. From CDG, it’s €53 to the Right Bank and €58 to the Left Bank. From Orly, it’s €37 to the Right Bank and €32 to the Left Bank.

That includes luggage, and the driver drops you right at your door. The ride takes between 35 and 60 minutes depending on traffic.

You’ll find taxi ranks clearly marked at both airports. Just avoid the “offers” you get inside the terminal — those are usually unlicensed drivers. Official taxis always have the “Taxi Parisien” sign.

By Private Transfer
